Small groups are starting back up. Did you know in the life we face, you will face many battles? If you've been alive for three days, you know that trails and struggles will come. Life is not always easy, but you don't have to face life alone. Join a small group to build community in your life. Here are three reasons why you should join a group this season.

A Group Builds Build Community

You were never designed to do life alone. The author of Ecclesiastes reminds us that 'two are better than one.' (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). He goes on to tell us that if one falls down, the other person will actually pick him back up again. Who do you have around you? Who is in your corner? You need some friends around you.

You need some friends who will bring you to the Kingdom of God. Make sure you friends are not pulling you somewhere you don't want to go. At the beginning of time, God looked at Adam and said it was NOT GOOD for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). From the very start, God did not create us to be alone. Small groups help build a community around you.

Small Groups Protect People

Small groups not only build a community around you, but they also protect the people in the group. Obviously, not every small group is amazing and wonderful. However, small groups are built to protect one another. In a group, you can share what you are going through. You can get advice from the people around you. You can share prayer requests.

A small group is a safe space for you to learn, grow, and even teach others. Remember, it's not just about you. Maybe you need to be in a small group to help someone else. When someone goes to the hospital, their group shows up for them with balloons and flowers. When someone is interviewing for a new job, their group is texting them positive messages the day before. This is how a small group protects.

Many Options at The Heart LA Church

At The Heart LA Church, we love small groups. This is one of the five things we do well as a church. Sunday mornings are built to experience God, but small groups are designed for you to connect with other people.

In our small groups, we have seasons. Each group does not just go on forever. Instead, there is a start and end time to each season. We typically have seasons in winter/spring, summer, and fall. Right now, we are starting our winter/spring season. This season we will begin the week of Valentine's Day and last for 6 weeks leading up to Easter.

However, every group is so different. Some groups will meet every week for those 6 weeks. Some will be more activity based and only meet two times. Some groups are even meeting only once! There is no excuse!
